The AMA (NSW) Council 2009-2011 |

The AMA (NSW) Council is the umbrella body that represents AMA members across NSW from all metropolitan, rural and regional areas, and from all sectors of the profession, including doctors-in-training, GPs and specialists.
The Council is composed of 12 representatives of specialties, 10 geographical representatives, 6 representatives in the Unrestricted General Class and one student member. It determines policy through consultation with the membership.
Currently the AMA (NSW) President is Dr Brian Morton and Vice President is Dr Michael Steiner.
Elections for Council were held in May 2009. The Board of Directors including the President and Vice President were elected in May 2009. They will hold their positions for one year.
