Medical practitioners and practices often receive requests from third parties for medical records or health information concerning their patients. Generally, such information can be provided to a third party if the patient has consented to the release of that information. However, there may be occasions where determining consent is not straightforward including when the patient is a minor, has impaired decision-making capacity or has passed away.
This webinar will provide practical information on managing issues regarding patient consent to disclosure of information, as well as guidance on disclosure when consent is not required or cannot be provided, to ensure compliance with your privacy obligations.
