Understanding the VMO Appeals Process

2 June - 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm UTC+0

Visiting Medical Officers in the NSW Public Hospital System who apply for re-appointment as a Visiting Medical Officer and are unsuccessful, may have rights of appeal against the decision of the Local Health District under the provisions of the Health Services Act 1997. There are also rights of appeal for Visiting Medical Officers whose appointment may be suspended to terminated or who have their clinical privileges reduced.

To learn more about the rights of appeal under the Health Services Act, and what is involved in the appeal process and preparation for, and participation in, a hearing before a Committee of Review, please join Juliette Paterson, AMA (NSW) Senior Workplace Relations Advisor, and Scott Chapman, Partner at HWL Ebsworth Lawyers, on Thursday 2 June at 7pm, for a webinar presentation on Understanding the VMO Appeals Process.

Juliette and Scott will discuss the legislative framework and provide practical advice regarding the appeals process with reference to appeal matters in which they have acted for Visiting Medical Officers.
