What doctors at this hospital are saying
What do you value most about your hospital?
“Tweed is a small hospital which forces people to get along more than they would in a big hospital. Small changes here can also make a big difference.”
“There is a good community atmosphere among the junior doctors allowing a shared workload. Most of the registrars and consultants are happy to offer advice and there is the right amount of supervision so you can feel supported but not micromanaged.”
“Beautiful location. Wonderful mental health inpatient unit.”
If you could change three things at your hospital what would they be?
“A full roster at least two weeks before the term starts. We would often receive rosters the day before and only for a few weeks, making it impossible to plan for things like visiting family or weekend events. 2. Admin would often not respond to emails or phone calls. It was impossible to see them face-to-face and requests were ignored. More admin and support staff should be hired. 3. Improved facilities and access to on call rooms.”
“Work load on the wards, not enough registrars. More engagement in outpatient care to reduce hospital workload. Current funding for care is very reactionary. Area to sleep on site when on call.”
“Workplace culture. Administration support: Rostering and appropriate pay.”
